Trong nhiều năm vừa qua, nhà nhiếp ảnh Stuart Palley đã liên tục đi từ quê nhà Los Angeles đến vùng Nam California để ghi lại khoảnh khắc cháy rừng dữ dội tại khu vực này. Điểm đặc biệt trong những bức ảnh của Palley là những vùng ánh sáng rực rỡ, lung linh tưởng chừng chỉ có trong những bộ phim bom tấn của Hollywood.
Để tạo ra những bức ảnh này, Palley đã sử dụng kỹ thuật phơi sáng lâu ở tốc độ cửa trập rất chậm. Nhờ đó mà nhà nhiếp ảnh gia tài ba của LA không chỉ thu lại được cơn cuồng nộ mà còn tái hiện được từng tia sáng, từng ngôi sao trong màn trời đêm.
Và dĩ nhiên là Palley sẽ không mù quáng lao mình vào cuộc chiến giữa núi rừng và những người lính cứu hỏa. Để có thể chụp được những bức ảnh này, anh phải hoàn thành khoá học “Sơ lược về Hoả họan tại Vùng Hoang” do Sở Lâm nghiệp Hoa Kỳ tổ chức.
